ARI has two different mold remediation techniques they use.

One technique is their ASA1000 misting application, which is exclusive to ARI. This process is used when you have little to no visible growth but high spore counts. Also in cases where you need to fully remediate an area but are unable to perform the works until a later date. This process can also be beneficial in conjunction with the traditional technique. This method consist of:

  • Placing critical barriers over doors and windows.
  • Misting the area for twenty minutes
  • Sealing the entrance way to the affected area

The other is the traditional technique which consists of:

  • Placing critical barriers over doors, windows and HVAC registers
  • Setting containment over areas non affected
  • Placing area under negative pressure
  • Removal of damaged building material
  • Sanding or wire brushing exposed framing
  • HEPA vacuuming the entire area
  • Wet wiping with a disinfectant
  • Scrubbing the air for 48 hours with HEPA filtered air scrubbers.
Advantages of the ASA1000 misting technique are:
  • Jobs take hours not days or weeks. Average time for a misting project is nine to twelve hours start to finish.
  • No reconstruction of building materials
  • Improve the indoor air quality
